Juliana Cunha
MSc Student

Juliana Isabel de Castro e Cunha completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, followed by a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine and Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of the same university During her academic training, she developed a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology, with her master’s thesis focusing on thymic regeneration after T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma regression. She is currently involved in the LEUK’N’FIT project, which aims to decipher the long-term impact of leukemia on immunological fitness beyond disease remission.

Her research interests include T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) malignant transformation of cells and thymic development. She is particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms that drive tumor initiation and progression in the thymus and how these processes intersect with normal thymic development and regeneration.
