Georgina Alves
PhD Student
I hold a University degree in Applied Biology and a Master degree in Molecular Genetics. As a research fellow, I had the opportunity to collaborate in several projects, as well as to meet researchers from different scientific backgrounds. This was an enriching and valuable experience for my personal and scientific development. After finishing my degree, I was involved in several projects, in areas such as cell biology, human genetics, microbiology and molecular genetics. By the end of my MSc I decided to continue working with pathogenic microorganisms as I wanted to contribute to the discovery of new control measures against the diseases they cause. Currently I am a PhD student of the Bioengineering Systems Doctoral program from MIT-Portugal.
