Sara Gouveia graduated in Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto-Douro (2021). She continued her studies at the same university by pursuing her master's degree in Molecular, Comparative and Technological Genetics. For the construction of her thesis, she was an intern at the Center of Medical Genetics of the University Hospital Centre of Santo António in Porto. In 2024, she concluded her master's degree with her thesis dissertation focusing on the implementation of a Tetraplet-Primed assay for the screening of Myotonic Dystrophy Type 2. Currently, she doing an internship in the group Genetics of Cognitive Dysfunction at i3S.
