Before coming to IBMC, Matthew obtained a Ph. D. in Biophysics from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA with Prof. Craig A. Townsend. He then went onto a post-doc with Dr. Brian K. Shoichet at the University of San Francisco, California.
