Jorge Vieira obtained a degree in Biology from University of Porto in 1991 and a Master degree from the same University in 1994. In 1997, after spending three years at Daniel Hartl's lab (Harvard University), he obtained a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Porto. Then he did a Post-Doc at Brian Charlesworth's lab (Edinburgh University) in between 1998 and 2000. Jorge Vieira is an expert in Population Genetics, Molecular Evolution and Bioinformatics (including Genomics, Transcriptomics and Proteomics), having published more than 65 papers in international peer reviewed journals.
