José Manuel Lopes, MD, Ph.D., IFCAP, is a Jubilee Professor of Pathology (Medical Faculty of Porto University), Chief Pathologist of the Department of Anatomic Pathology (Centro Hospitalar Universitário São João), Senior Researcher of I3S, and Senior Consultant at IPATIMUP Diagnósticos. He is a co-author of 300 peer-reviewed publications (h-index: 48) and five book chapters. His specialization is bone and soft-tissue, neuroendocrine, neuropathology, dermatopathology, and urogenital pathology. His research focuses on understanding the pathogenesis and molecular pathology of melanomas and cutaneous, soft-tissue, urogenital, and neuroendocrine tumors.
