José Manuel Lopes, MD, Ph.D., IFCAP, is an Associate Professor of Pathology (Medical Faculty of Porto University), Chief Pathologist of the Department of Anatomic Pathology (Centro Hospitalar Universitário São João), Senior Researcher of I3S, and Senior Consultant at IPATIMUP Diagnósticos. He is a co-author of 300 peer-reviewed publications (h-index: 44) and five chapters of books. His specialization is bone/soft tissue, neuroendocrine, neuropathology, dermatopathology, and urogenital pathology. His research is understanding the pathogenesis and molecular pathology of melanomas, cutaneous, soft tissue, urogenital, and neuroendocrine tumors.
