Sílvia Bidarra
Junior Researcher
Sílvia Bidarra is a postdoctoral investigator at INEB. She completed her University Degree in Biology at University of Aveiro at 2004. In 2011 she obtained her PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto with the thesis entitled: ?Exploring the crosstalk between mesenchymal stem cells and endothelial cells in bone tissue engineering? with the mentors: Dr. Pedro Granja (INEB) and Dra. Raquel Soares (Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto). Since 2012 she is working with Dra Cristina Barrias (INEB) and Dra Carla Oliveira (IPATIMUP) in the development of a 3D in vitro model that mimic the natural extracellular matrix to investigate the role of the microenvironment in cancer progression, in particular during epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and mesenchymal to epithelial transition (MET).
