Joana Catarina Macedo

Joana Macedo started her academic training in 2007 with a BSc in Biology (University of Aveiro), were she studied the molecular basis of Duchenne/Becker muscular dystrophy. From 2008 to 2010, she worked in animal molecular diagnostic. In 2010, she joined to the Ageing and Aneuploidy Lab as a founding member where she did her PhD in Biomedicine (Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto), aiming to unravel the physiological role of mitotic fidelity in the context of aneuploidy and aging, under the supervision of Elsa Logarinho. Currently, she started working as a junior researcher in a scientific project entitled AGELeSS – In vivo amelioration of AGE-associated haLlmarkS by tranScriptional modulation (2018-2021).
