Graduated as Medical Doctor in 1998 by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Oporto. Is a PhD Student in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oporto and a Clinical Assistant of Pneumology of the 4th year of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oporto. Since 2006, is a specialist in Pneumology and works as Consultant in the Pneumology Department of Centro Hospitalar de São João, Oporto, Portugal. Has clinical experience in diagnosis, staging and treatment of lung cancer and mediastinal and pleural malignancies and, also, experience in bronchoscopy, interventional pulmonology, EBUS-TBNA, thoracoscopy and pleural techniques. In the present, is participating in the project "Genetic characterization of circulating DNA in patients with lung adenocarcinoma", a collaboration between the Thoracic Oncology Unit of the Pneumology Department of Centro Hospitalar de São João and the Institute of Molecular Pathology and Immunology of the University of Porto, Ipatimup. Member of the Portuguese Pneumology Society and of the European Respiratory Society. Co-investigator of clinical trials and author and co-author of scientific papers.
