Margarida Gomes
PhD Student
Margarida graduated in Applied Biology by the University of Minho in 2008. She then worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM), studying the clinical implications of activation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in primary adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia. In 2012, she joined the Chromosome Instability and Dynamics Group at the Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC), Porto. She is currently pursuing her PhD in molecular and cell biology. Her current research is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind multipolar mitosis. She wants to investigate the multiple pathways and the main players implicated in multipolar mitosis and also the consequences of multipolar mitosis.
