Ricardo Celestino
Visiting Researcher

Ricardo is research scientist in the group of Reto Gassmann at the i3S - Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (Portugal) since 2014. His research has been focused in the molecular mechanisms and regulation of cytoplasmic dynein complex using biochemical and cellular assays and the Caenorhabditis elegans as animal model. Ricardo is also invited professor at the Polytechnic of Porto since 2007. Previously, Ricardo was researcher in the group of Prof. Paula Soares at the Ipatimup (Portugal) and visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Rolf I. Skotheim at the Oslo University Hospital (Norway), being focused in molecular pathology of thyroid cancers and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. He is graduated in Pathological, Cytological and Thanatological Anatomy (2007) by School of Health ESS, Polytechnic of Porto (Portugal), and doctor in Pathology and Molecular Genetics (2012) by ICBAS and Medical Faculty, University of Porto (Portugal). He has published 28 peer-reviewed papers with h-index of 16 and 1351 citations.
