Training Course Genetics in Family Medicine

The CGPP organizes the 7th edition of the Training Course Genetics in Family Medicine.
The aim of these courses is to enable health professionals working in primary care can update their knowledge and skills in genetics. In the long term we hope to contribute to an improvement in health care provided to patients with genetic diseases, or concerned about potential genetic risks. So the invited speakers address issues relevant in a practical format, based on the presentation of clinical cases and red flags for referral to Genetics services, supported by tools and resources adapted to daily practice at Primary care. In this edition, we will have lectures about the clinical and diagnostic challenges of conditions such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis; child deafness; about new therapeutic approaches in Familial Hypercholesterolemia. On the second day, we will have two sessions specially dedicated to pre-conception and prenatal genetic screening, relevant for the healthcare attention of couples at the primary care level.
The course will be in Portuguese.
Target audience: Specialists and Interns in General and Family Medicine, Doctors and Interns from other Specialties and other Health Professionals.
