Visualizing Molecules: A Dive into CryoEM Technology
31 January 2025 | i3S, Porto
Cryo-Electron Microscopy (CryoEM) has emerged as a groundbreaking technique for visualising the structures of biological molecules at near-atomic resolution. The workshop provides an excellent opportunity for participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and applications of CryoEM.
The workshop will introduce the fundamental principles of CryoEM, including the preparation of biological samples, the formation and reconstruction of images, and the latest applications such as Cryo-CLEM and cellular cryo-tomography. Furthermore, participants will be provided with an overview of the existing infrastructure in Portugal (Cryo-EM PT), offering a unique opportunity to gain insight into integrating CryoEM into their research.
The workshop is suitable for both novice and experienced CryoEM practitioners, offering a comprehensive understanding of CryoEM through practical insights and scientific discussions.
Target: Senior and Postdoctoral researchers, PhD and Master students
Language: English
Organizing Committee: Tatiana Cereija and Paula Sampaio
Venue
The workshop will be held at i3S – Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde.
