Events Management Unit
The Events Management Unit (EMU) is devoted to the organization and management of scientific events, namely meetings, conferences, courses, workshops and seminars.
EMU provides personalized service to organizers, which includes planning the event (venue, budget), the production of dissemination tools and respective implementation, the event management and support (travel and accommodation arrangements, registrations and abstract submission management, event supporting in loco), as well as final balance and reporting.
In this context, EMU supports the i3S mission of developing research in health sciences and technologies at the highest international level, through the effective development and management of different types of scientific events that communicate the high quality of i3S competencies and researchers.
In 2023, EMU organized more than 40 events, among which some of the most relevant in the fields of Cancer, Rare Diseases, Genetics, Animal Welfare, Scientific Careers, and Biomaterials, both at national and international levels. Also, i3S hosted more than 20 practical courses managed by EMU in collaboration with the Advanced Training Unit. Collectively, these events and courses drew in more than 3200 participants.
EMU is also involved in the organization of i3S seminars. More than 110 seminars were organized in i3S during 2023, with a significant number of international and world-renowned invited speakers.
