Irina Amorim graduated in Veterinary Medicine in the University of Porto and obtained a PhD degree in Veterinary Sciences in the same University. Her main field of expertise is Veterinary Pathology. In order to protect and improve animal, human and environmental health, she is developing research work in the area of gastric pathology by studying gastric Helicobacter spp. infection and gastric carcinogenesis in animals. She actively collaborates with other research groups in comparative breast cancer and participates in multidisciplinary projects in the area of regenerative medicine and cellular therapies, including the application of biomaterials and the use of stem cells.
