Patrícia Mesquita is a post-doctoral researcher at IPATIMUP in the Differentiation and Cancer group. She has a PhD in Human Biology from the Medical Faculty of Porto (2005). She studied the regulation of MUC2 mucin gene expression in intestinal metaplasia, mucinous gastric carcinoma and gastric carcinoma cell lines - role of methylation and putative transcription factors. She has consolidated expertise in Molecular and Cellular Biology, specifically in studies of regulation of gene expression and epigenetics. She has Post-Doc experience in the Animal Reproduction and Genetics field. She has coordinated one project financed by the FCT and participated in at least another eight projects. She has published 20 peer-reviewed papers.
