Where Ideas Grow

PhD Student

Currently obtaining my Master's Degree in Biochemistry by the University of Porto. Right now, I'm developing my Master Thesis in the Morais-de-Sá Lab at I3S. The main focus of my work is in the crosstalk between epithelial cell polarity and cytoskeleton polarization, and how it contributes to the maintenance of correct tissue architecture and homeostasis.

I'm an advocate of good and honest science, and whilst my focus is currently on cell biology, other themes such as immunology and cancer biology fascinate me. I enjoy the sometimes painful task of keeping up with literature and try to picture how different molecular mechanisms are deployed to ensure correct cell function. You might say I'm still in the "honeymoon phase" of science and research.

Travelling and motorcycling with friends and family occupy most of my free time when outside the lab.
