Tiago Ribeiro holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Aveiro (2017), a MSc (2019) and a PhD (2026) in Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Porto. His PhD, in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin (USA), delve into the development of nanoparticles for cancer synergic therapies and simultaneous bioimaging through MRI. Currently, Tiago is focused on the study of nanomaterials and their molecular and crystallographic modulation to find new treatments against biofilm-related infections. Besides disease treatment, Tiago is also interested in tissue regeneration and the development of clinically relevant 3D in vitro models for drug screening and to study biological interactions. 

So far, Tiago has published 10 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and authored several communications in national and international conferences. He supervised 2 students (1 BSc and 1 MSc) and was a mentor to over 15 students. Besides research, Tiago is involved in several projects regarding public awareness of science.
