Tiago José Gil Pousa Ribeiro was born in 1996 in Bragança, Portugal. He did his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Aveiro, in which he got interested in nanotechnology and materials applied to health sciences. He also holds a MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering by FEUP where he developed smart nanoparticles for cancer theranostics.

Currently, Tiago is a PhD student under the supervision of Doctor Marta Laranjeira and Professor Fernando Jorge Monteiro, working on a project for cancer bioimaging and remote controlled therapy.
