Where Ideas Grow
Sara Peneda
PhD Student

I have a degree in Veterinary Medicine from ICBAS – Universidade do Porto since 2016. I worked as a designated veterinarian in IBIMED between 2016-2018 and due to my growing interest in laboratory animal welfare and research, I joined LAS in 2018 as a research and training assistant. I was part of a project aimed at understanding laboratory mouse preweaning mortality and my work focused specially in applying pathology techniques to gather data on preweaning mortality.

Since Nov 2020, I joined the NVS team at Francis Crick Institute (London, UK) as a ECLAM (European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine) Resident while, at the same time, continue to pursue my PhD degree in Veterinary Sciences (ICBAS-UP) in collaboration with LAS and under the supervision of Anna Olsson.
