I have a degree in Veterinary Medicine from ICBAS – Universidade do Porto since 2016. Between 2016-18, I worked as a designated veterinarian in IBIMED, and, due to a growing interest in laboratory animal welfare and research, joined LAS in 2018 as a research and training assistant, taking part in a project aimed at understanding laboratory mouse preweaning mortality. My work is focused specially in applying pathology techniques and behaviour analysis to gather data on preweaning mortality of wild-type laboratory mice.
Since Nov 2020, I joined the NVS team at Francis Crick Institute (London, UK) as a ECLAM (European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine) Resident while, at the same time, continuing to pursue my PhD degree in Veterinary Sciences (ICBAS-UP) in collaboration with LAS and under the supervision of Anna Olsson.
