PhD Student

João has a master on Biomedical Engineering (FEUP) and works in the Microenvironments for NEWTherapies (MiNT) group since 2015, when he joined the group to explore the role of miRNAs in inflammation-related cardiovascular diseases, under the scope of his master thesis. João is now a BiotechHealth PhD student and he is focused on understand the interplay between inflammation and psychiatric disorders, namely by finding new biological biomarkers for depression diagnosis.
