Mariana Resende is as PhD student. Her work focuses on the assembly of granulomas during mycobacterial infections. Although it has been believed that these structures provide protection, recent evidences raised the possibility that granulomas may provide a sanctuary to microbes. Hence is crucial to understand the inflammation type genesis and clarify its role in the protective immunity development.
